KOTA KINABALU:Â The PKR Penampang Branch is still intact, said Sabah PKR Chief Datuk Christina Liew.
She announced that the branch’s Deputy Chief Joseph Alex Chang is now the head of the branch, following the departure of its chief, Kenny Chua.
“Joseph has managed to hold the fort. He is automatically the new chief of the PKR Penampang Branch. Two-thirds of the Branch Committee are with him,” Liew, who is also PH Sabah Chairperson, said after meeting the group led by Chang, on Tuesday night.
She assured that the branch will be taken care of by the PKR State Leadership Council (MPN Sabah PKR).
Meanwhile, Chang pledged full support for the party’s struggle on behalf of the branch, saying that Penampang is a stronghold for PKR. “Despite what has happened, we are well-positioned and ready to face the upcoming State election,” he said.
