TAWAU: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) P190 Tawau has expressed the hope that the incumbent MP Datuk Christina Liew will be renominated to defend her seat.
Speaking to the media at the Community Centre here on Wednesday, its Coordinating Chairman Abas KBS @ Kaing said : “We in Pakatan Harapan (PH) fully support Christina’s candidacy for the Tawau seat.
“If she wins, she will be able to implement and accomplish what she has planned to do for the Tawau constituency.”
One uncompleted development project is the proposed Pangolin Sanctuary at the Tawau Hills Park as a new tourism attraction.
Abas said Amanah in Tawau will help to campaign in the predominantly Malay areas in the Apas and Balung State Constituencies to ensure Liew’s victory.
According to him, Amanah had initially intended to contest the Tawau seat “but now PH is standing solidly behind the incumbent MP.”
