Society of Hope continues to extend food aid to children

KOTA KINABALU: The Society of Hope Sabah has continued to extend food aid amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Its President Josephine Hadikusumo said she is grateful that the Society has been able to continue this humanitarian work since the pandemic started, albeit with very strict measures in place.

This week, she handed over food aid from the Society’s Project Hope Milk and School Kit Fund to representatives from villages in Inanam, Sembulan and Telipok Ria near here.

The distribution exercise benefiting 72 young children was carried out in stages in strict compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs), according to Hadikusumo.

“Each village sent a representative and presented data of the recipients for verification. We take these measures to ensure that our donors can rely on our accountability, while still doing our utmost for the most vulnerable people in our communities,” said the President in a statement on Thursday, in thanking local and overseas donors for their generous support of the Society’s cause.
