JAMES (centre) releases dozens of pigeons as a symbol of Paitan’s upgrade to a full district.
PAITAN: Minister of Community Development and People’sWell-being (KPMKR) and Sugut Assemblyman, Datuk James Ratib expressed hishappiness after Paitan has now officially become a Full District.
“I am very grateful that finally our ambition to seethe Paitan Small District upgraded to a Full District has finally beenofficially achieved today.
“We are grateful to all parties involved in realizingthis dream,” he said here in a ceremony on Saturday.According to James, his plan after the announcement ismade, is that he will apply for the most important department positions to be occupiedearlier in the Paitan District Office.
“We have also planned a development plan for PaitanDistrict within a period of five years. I hope this Paitan development plan willbe achieved within that time.
“This is the time for Paitan District to get out ofthe poor or extreme poor status.
“And I also expect cooperation from the people and theleaders so that they can both upgrade and develop this district faster,”he said.
James added, among other things contained in the Paitandevelopment plan is the construction of government offices consisting of theLand and Survey Office, Sports Complex, Registration Department, MPOB, FederalDepartment Offices, including the construction of a Mini Hospital for thePaitan District Office in the future .
“And in addition, we have also made a plan toestablish a new town in Paitan District by the private sector.
“I myself will ensure that there is a new town in Paitan.
“The Development Plan will start next year and now wehave called a consultant to make this development plan and we will raise it tothe Director of Urban and Regional Planning so that this development plan canbe endorsed so that its implementation can be accelerated,” he said.
According to him, with the development plan built by theprivate sector, this will speed up the planned development in Paitan.
