LABUAN: Lions Club of Labuan Mandarin contributed RM3000 worth of necessities to help 7 families who lost their homes after their kampung Rancha–Rancha Laut home was destroyed by fire in a house fire yesterday afternoon.
Vice President I, Lions Club Mandarin Labuan, Chia Sea Theng said among the items donated were 10 mattresses, 10 pillows, 10 bedsheet sets,10 blankets, 20 towels, 4 cooking stove with 2 burner, 4 frying wok, 4 cooking pots and 20 packets Nestum 3in1 .
“Lions are committed to rebuilding communities impacted by fire in Kg Rancha-Rancha Laut. Through the support of our club members and District emergency grant, we are able to help these 7 families,” he said after handing over the donations to the victims through the Labuan Social Welfare Department (JKM), this morning.

Also present at the handover ceremony was the Director of the Labuan Social Welfare Department, Ansharey Matarsad and Vice President 2, Lions Club Labuan Mandarin, Alden Wong Ching Ko.

On Tuesday evening, a house inhabited by 7 families lost their homes when their house was 100 per cent burnt, while three others suffered between 10 and 70 per cent damage.
