KOTA KINABALU: The Api -Api Constituency Liaison Office has initiated the ‘JOM Balik Sekolah’ Programme to7 relieve the burden faced by parents in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Api-Api Assemblywoman Datuk Christina Liew launched this programme on Sunday during a thanksgiving lunch as a token of appreciation for grassroots leaders who had worked hard during the recent PKR election.
“We are giving out school stationery sets to
children in need, particularly those from B40 families in the Api-Api Constituency.
“We understand the financial predicament of parents from low-income groups, and hope our initiative will bring some relief to those with several school-going children,” she said.
For starters, a total of 818 stationery sets were handed out to community leaders representing the various areas concerned.
According to Liew, the community leaders are entrusted with the task of distributing the stationery sets to deserving parents in the respective areas.
