KOTA KINABALU: Member of Parliament for Tawau, Datuk Christina Liew has clarified that she was in the Dewan Rakyat sitting of the Third Term of the 14th Parliament after her release from a 14-day mandatory quarantine in Kuala Lumpur.
She said she had attended the one-week sitting from Nov 23 to 26 before returning to Sabah, and would go back to Parliament next week after observance of the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP).
“I had attended last Thursday’s sitting (Nov 26) when the voting on the Second Reading of the 2021 Supply Bill was held. The rest is history.”I had informed the PKR leadership that I need to be away for a week, and will return to Parliament the week after.I came back to Kota Kinabalu on Friday (Nov 27) to settle some issues as a family member had undergone surgery. As a rule, Parliament does not sit on Fridays,” she said in a statement, Tuesday.
Liew, who is also Sabah PKR Chief, said she will continue to attend the debate session, and will be present when the voting process on the Third Reading of the 2021 Supply Bill takes place on Dec 15.
