KOTA KINABALU: The third batch of food aid distribution in Api Api brings the total number of beneficiaries to 1,000 families under the Movement Control Order (MCO) which has been extended to April 14.

Api Api Assemblywoman Datuk Christina Liew handed over bags of rice and other foodstuff to representatives from 12 groups at the Damai Community Hall here last Sunday.
Among the beneficiaries were those from the B40 group, disabled persons (OKU), single mothers, hawkers from the weekly Api Api Food Night Market and Kg Air Tamu who could no longer operate their stalls, members of the KK Taxi Association, residents of Taman Mahkota, Sunny Garden and Chong Village as well as members of the Sabah Chinese Welfare Association.

“The State Government may consider additional food assistance, depending on the status of the current situation in the next fortnight,” said Liew who is also Deputy Chief Minister. She reminded the people to practise good personal hygiene to curb the spread of Covid-19 infection. –END-
