1,000 milk powder packs for children in Tawau

TAWAU: Tawau MP Datuk Christina Liew has started distributing free milk powder to toddlers and young children from families of the Bottom 40pc (B40) category and other poor households in the parliamentary constituency.


On Tuesday, the former Deputy Chief Minister gave out 300 packets of powdered milk to mothers at the PPR Taman Sri Apas, Batu 8, Jalan Apas, Kg Kurnia Jaya, Batu 4, Jalan Apas and Kg Hj Sundu, Batu 2 in the Apas state constituency.


“My humble contribution is to help ease the burden shouldered by needy families and those financially affected by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

They live mainly in the rural areas while other recipients are from pockets of urban poor.”Before the end of the week, I will have given out some 1,000 packets of powdered milk,” she told reporters.

Liew was assisted in the milk distribution exercise by the Tawau Parliamentary Chief Liaison Officer, Fung Thin Yein, Liaison Officer Robert Penggai and volunteers.


Meanwhile, Liew urged Tawau residents to avail themselves of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme in Sabah.


“Go for your vaccine shots to protect yourselves and your families. The World Health Organisation (WHO) and local health experts have assured us of the safety and efficacy of the vaccines.”You may register for the vaccination via MySejahtera or through the websites and call centres,” she said.
