TAWAU: Tawau MP Datuk Christina Liew commended the Tawau Maxim e-Hailing Drivers Recreation Club for its recent community service project with the theme “TawauKu Bersih” (Clean Tawau).
It was carried out by the club in collaboration with Tawau Maxim e-Hailing Service and Tawau Municipal Council (MPT) which provided its trucks for disposal of garbage collected from the beach along the coastal highway for a start.
Liew, who is the club’s patron, said the community cleanliness awareness campaign was a good initiative which should be emulated by other covic-conscious non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
“Thumbs-up to the organisers. It is a good private-public partnership in keeping Tawau clean, and I hope other NGOs will also play their role within their capacity when life returns to normalcy,” she said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Tawau Maxim e-Hailing Drivers Recreation Club, Mohd Asmalil Karim said “TawauKu Bersih” will be an ongoing exercise.
