Malaysia Art Exhibition Raises Awareness on Human Trafficking

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22 – Art Market Malaysia, in collaboration with Soriata Resources, has launched an anti-human trafficking art exhibition in conjunction with the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2025.

The exhibition, themed “Reject Human Trafficking, End Migrant Smuggling”, runs from August 18 to 31 at the Concourse Level of Pavilion Damansara Heights. A soft opening was held on Wednesday, officiated by senior representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) and the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK).

The initiative is organised under the Council for Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants (MAPO) with full support from KDN.

Founder of Art Market Malaysia and Soriata Resources, Rita Hatta, said the exhibition highlights how art can amplify awareness and inspire collective action against exploitation. “Artists have a unique gift to express the unspoken and transform silence into powerful messages. This exhibition honours those who use art to give voice to the voiceless,” she said.

In addition to visual artworks, the programme includes public activities such as a humanitarian poetry recital, colouring contest, rock painting and a short drama competition, all centred on the theme of rejecting human trafficking.

The exhibition remains open to the public until August 31, with organisers encouraging Malaysians to stand in solidarity with survivors and support the fight against human trafficking.
