KOTA KINABALU: The Ministry of Community Development and People’s Well-being (KPMKR) is committed to reforming governance and providing an efficient and transparent service delivery system.

Assistant Minister of KPMKR, Datuk Flovia Ng said, among the initiatives at the ministry level is the preparation of KPMKR’s Organizational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP).

The plan, she said, will be updated at the end of this year so that it is always in line with the direction of the ministry.

“At the departmental level, JPKA and JHEWA have also prepared their respective OACP.

Congratulations to the ministry, JPKA and JHEWA for their noble initiative and high commitment to provide their respective OACP.

“I hope that all members of KPMKR and the departments and agencies under it will always uphold corruption-free practices in the management of organizations and the implementation of development projects.

“The entrusted responsibilities must be carried out wholeheartedly and put personal interests aside. A work culture of excellence, simplicity and integrity will be the basis for improving the image and productivity of the ministry,” she said.

Flovia who is also the Tulid Assemblywoman said this while officiating the KPMKR Integrity Week held in the Foyer, Ground Floor of Wisma Tun Fuad Stephens on Monday.

This program is an annual program and this year is the fourth time it has been implemented.

Among the objectives is to cultivate and strengthen the value of integrity among all KPMKR citizens and Departments and Agencies under KPMKR continuously.

“My thanks and appreciation to the Permanent Secretary of KPMKR for the honor given to me to launch the Ministry’s Integrity Week which starts today 12 to 16 August and has the theme ‘Simplicity At The Core Of Integrity’.

“I also congratulate the Executive Committee for their commitment and solid cooperation in making the KPMKR Integrity Week a success with the cooperation of departments and agencies.

“I understand that the Integrity Week celebration will also be broadcast via the zoom application and live to allow the people of the ministry and departments and agencies of the ministry who cannot be physically present to participate in this morning’s session,” she said.

According to Flovia, the selection of the theme ‘Simplicity At The Core Of Integrity’ is in line with the ministry’s approach to ensure the implementation of programs and events as well as expenses are carried out in moderation in line with the government’s desire to optimize expenses.

This approach, she said, will indirectly apply the culture of integrity and make ministry members more transparent and honest in carrying out their duties.

“Several programs have been planned throughout this Integrity Week such as integrity talks, Integrity Social Responsibility (ISR) programs, choir competitions and so on.

“This is done with the objective of providing exposure and awareness to the people of the ministry and departments and agencies about the importance of the integrity of civil servants in the public service and increasing trust as well as public confidence in the government.

“In that regard, I really hope that all the people of ministries and departments and agencies will commit to the programs that will be implemented throughout this Integrity Week,” she said.

Flovia also took the opportunity to express her gratitude to the Sabah MACC and BIGONS who always support the efforts to prevent corruption with the KPMKR ministry.

“Thank you to everyone involved, the commitment of the guests and the cooperation of strategic partners who have supported to make this program a success,” she explained.
