Labuan: World Cleanup Day (WCD) is an annual global program that happens every 3rd Saturday of the year. The initiative of the program is to create environmental awareness within the community at all ages.
JCI Labuan has decided to take a different initiative this year by organising a TikTok Challenge for 2020 World Cleanup Day. The Organising Chairperson, Angel Tolentino noted that the TikTok challenge provides an innovative way to encourage people to clean up anywhere, anytime; making cleaning fun and exciting.
There will be 3 categories for the Most Creative and Impactful Video, with RM500 cash prizes up for grabs for the winner of each category, Adult Open (18 years and above) Children Open (17 years and under) and Children Closed (17 years and under)
The TikTok challenge is opened to all Malaysian residents (Malaysians and Foreigners alike) to generate greater coverage nationwide, and inspire netizens to be more aware of their environmental impact and responsibilities. There is also a special category for school aged children based in Labuan to encourage local youth participations.
JCI Labuan is honoured to have the support and endorsement by the Malaysian Humanitarian Foundation (MHF), and sponsorship from DBS Bank (Labuan Branch) and Jabatan Alam Sekitar (JAS) W.P. Labuan.
JCI Labuan also urges the public to participate in this TikTok Challenge and be part of this global initiative. Registrations are now open (http://bit.ly/ttwcd20). The closing date for submissions is on 20 Sept 2020. For more information, contact Organising Chairperson Angel on 011-24728910 or JCI Labuan President Bernice on 012-8852901.
