Fourth and final round of food aid distribution in Tawau Parliamentary Constituency

TAWAU : Member of Parliament for Tawau, Datuk Christina Liew was on her fourth and final round of food aid distribution and face masks in the Tawau Parliamentary Constituency over the last week-end, since the Movement Control Order (MCO) started on March 18.

For the purpose, she visited Surau Al-Ikhlas, Kg Jawa Lanut (Merotai), Masjid Sri Ranggu, Kg Ranggu (Balung), Masjid Nurul Jihad at Taman Kinabutan Ria (Balung), Masjid Kg Kinabutan Bukit (Balung), Masjid Saydina Abu Bakar at Kg Tinagat, Jalan Apas Laut (Apas) and Masjid Taufiq Al-Hidayah, Kg Apas Parit (Apas).

“Since we had to forgo the Hari Raya celebration due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I hope to meet you again in the forthcoming Hari Raya Haji.

Please continue to wear your face mask, practise good personal hygiene and comply with safe social distancing,” Liew advised the people.

At Surau Al-Ikhlas where Imam Nordin Mohd was also present, Mohd Azdlan Alimuddin, who represented the village folks, thanked the Tawau MP for personally delivering the food packs to them.

Meanwhile, Liew, who is also Deputy Chief Minister, said she would look into the request by the Chairman of Masjid Saydina Abu Bakar, Paisal Karim to put up a “Selamat Datang” signboard to indicate the name of Kg Tinagat.

Also present were Tawau Parliamentary Chief Liaison Officer, Fung Thin Yein, Apas Community Development Leader, Mohd Shafiee Banjar, Apas Community Development Officer, Samuel Fung and officials from the Tawau Parliamentary People’s Service Centre. –Borneo Daily Bulletin
