KOTA KINABALU: Former students of All Saints’ School, who studied from Form One to Form Five between 1972 and 1976, will reunite on Saturday (Oct 24) to celebrate five decades of friendship, shared memories and life experiences.
The Golden Reunion, themed “Golden Memories, Golden Years: Then, Now & Always”, will be held at Ewest Restaurant in Damai here, beginning at 6pm.
Organising chairman Datuk Wong Thien Fook said the reunion was more than a celebratory dinner, providing an opportunity for former classmates to reconnect and reflect on their shared experiences over the past 50 years.
He said the milestone was a reminder of the friendships and memories formed during their school days, which continued to hold a special place in their lives despite the different paths they had taken.
“Today, we have grown older, raised families, pursued different careers, and experienced the many joys and challenges that life brings. Yet, the friendships and memories we formed during our school days remain a special part of who we are,” he said in a statement.
Wong said the gathering would bring classmates together beyond their professional backgrounds, positions and achievements, united by their shared history and enduring bonds.
He expressed hope that the reunion would allow former students to appreciate one another, rekindle old friendships and create new memories together.
The event will also include a special remembrance of classmates and teachers who have passed away, honouring their contributions, friendship and lasting influence on the Class of 1972–1976.
Wong also expressed appreciation to the organising committee, emcee, singer and all those who had contributed their time, effort and support towards making the reunion possible.
He urged former classmates who were able to attend to make every effort to join the celebration, stressing that each individual remained an important part of the school’s shared history.
“After 50 years, the greatest gift we can give one another is our presence, our friendship, and the opportunity to share these precious moments together once again,” he said.
The reunion is expected to bring an evening of nostalgia, laughter and heartfelt conversations, celebrating not only the memories of school days but also the friendships that have endured across five decades.
As reflected in its theme, “Then, Now & Always”, the celebration underscores how time may pass, but the bonds formed during school years can remain meaningful throughout life.
