41st Installation and Award Ceremony of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Labuan

LABUAN: Junior Chamber International (JCI) Labuan successfully held their 41st Installation and Award Ceremony with the theme “The G Night : Golf-Garden-Green”, at Par Tee Bar and Restaurant at Labuan Golf Club, recently.

The ceremony was officiated by Labuan Member of Parliament Datuk Rozman Isli.

Organising chairman,  Izz Syahiran Lee, said  despite a challenging year (2021), JCI Labuan members managed to organise numerous virtual trainings for their members to provide personal individual growth, and several physical projects and activities to provide the opportunity for networking and give back to the community.

“The organisation and its members also received a number of awards in the State (JCIM Area Sabah) and National (JCI Malaysia) levels’ he said.

JCI Labuan welcomed four new members during the induction ceremony which was conducted by the 2022 JCI Malaysia National Vice President Regina Ngu, representing 2022 JCI Malaysia National President, JCI Senator Ellen Lu and accompanied by the 2021 JCI Labuan President Vicky Huong.

Bernice Chin-Langshaw  the 2021 Immediate Past President, conducted the awards presentation ceremony where members were recognised for their individual achievements and selfless service towards the local organisation.

This was followed by the installation of the 2022 JCI Labuan President, Pooi Jun Jin  and the 2022 JCI Labuan Board of Directors.

JCI is a non-profit organisation of young active citizens all over the world who are engaged and committed to creating impact in communities. JCI Labuan is proud to be part of the JCI Global Leadership Movement, providing development opportunities to empower young people to create positive change. With a one year to lead philosophy, a new president is elected each year to provide everyone with an equal opportunity to lead.

The ceremony was sponsored and supported by several local organisations and individuals, most notably it’s platinum sponsor, Healthy Water Specialist.
