KOTA KINABALU: Women’s empowerment needs to be streamlined because women are seen as the driving force for the development of human capital, including the country’s economic aspects, said the Minister of Community Development and People’s Well-being (KPMKR), Datuk James Ratib.
According to him, in line with the main policy of the KPMKR ministry to empower women in Sabah, it has become a priority to ensure that women are always prosperous, proactive and knowledgeable.
“This is important, so that women are always relevant to the mainstream and contribute to the progress of the state and the nation.
“My ministry has established a caring and responsible community as the main core of service in fulfilling the responsibility of community development and the sustainable well-being of the people,” he said.
He, who is also the Sugut Assemblyman, said this through his speech text delivered by KPMKR Assistant Minister Datuk Flovia Ng in conjunction with the Aspiration and Inspiration Seminar for Women Entrepreneurs held at the Grand Ballroom, Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa on Saturday.
James said that the implementation of this seminar is very appropriate in empowering and encouraging young women to become competitive entrepreneurs and able to create success for themselves and further raise the image of the State of Sabah.
“I understand that the Creamers Program is an entrepreneurship program involving young women entrepreneurs who focus on entrepreneurship development in the digital era in line with the current business environment.
“Congratulations to the women who have successfully graduated in the Creating Millionaires Among Young Women Entreprenuers Program.
“It is hoped that this program can help you in improving your entrepreneurial knowledge, financial management knowledge as well as strengthen your virtual or face-to-face marketing knowledge,” he said.
James added, there are 4 Creamers Entrepreneurs who have achieved sales of over 1 million a year.
“Congratulations and well done to these four entrepreneurs. I hope that the participants present can use this as an example and an example to move forward enthusiastically. Challenges are not obstacles to chasing dreams.
“Through the Creating Millionaires Among Young Women Entreprenuers Program, I also understood that apart from learning theory, this project also uses the mentor-mentee or hands-holding method,” he said.
According to him, some entrepreneurs from this program have been taken abroad such as Indonesia and Bangkok as an inspiration to female entrepreneurs to get new ideas and create strategic relationships and networks.
Meanwhile, he wished well and congratulated the Chairman of the Women’s Advisory Council and the Work Secretary for successfully implementing Creating Millionaires Among Young Women Entreprenuers Group 1 and 2 as well as the Aspiration and Inspiration Seminar.
“Congratulations are also extended to the Sabah Women’s Affairs Department as the secretariat who also helped make this program a success.
“I would also like to thank the government agencies and strategic partners of the ministry for always supporting the efforts in ensuring the success of the programs implemented by the agencies under KPMKR.
