“The people are in dire need of assistance as they are impacted by the extended movement control order (now MCO 2.0), triggered by the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some who are daily-paid workers have lost their jobs, and are struggling for survival. Mothers said they can’t afford to buy milk powder for their children, so they are giving them condensed milk.”My humble contribution is to help ease the people’s burden,” the former Deputy Chief Minister told reporters.
AÂ church member identified as Juliana lamented that her husband, who earned a living as a school canteen operator, has been out of work since the imposition of MCO 1.0 in March last year.

Pastor Anthony Silokon of the Baptist Church at Kg Serudung Baru expressed the church’s gratitude to Liew for her contribution.
Said the Chairperson of the Baptist Church Committee, Alice Kanyan : “We are facing difficult times. Fortunately, we have an elected representative who ‘ambil berat’ (cares). This is the second time we have received assistance from (Datuk) Christina.”
Liew, who is also Api Api Assemblywoman, was accompanied on her rounds by the Tawau Parliamentary Chief Liaison Officer, Fung Thin Yein and Liaison Officer Robert Penggai.
