TAWAU: Tawau MP Datuk Christina Liew said she will look into the need to upgrade the female prayer section of Masjid Nur Al-Taqwa which is in a state of disrepair.
Built in 2012, the wooden structure adjoining the mosque is located at Kg Terasing Batu 17 at Jalan Maria in the Balung state constituency.
The former Deputy Chief Minister gave the assurance after presenting prayer mats and rice supplies to the Chairman of Masjid Nur Al-Taqwa, Osman Sangut, recently.
“I have also received a letter of application from Osman informing me about the present condition of the wooden structure, together with a proposal for upgrading and a request for an allocation.
“The floor gets wet whenever it rains, and this causes discomfort to those worshipping in the female prayer room,” she said.
