James hits the guests present
PAITAN: Minister of Community Development and People’s Wellbeing, Datuk James Ratib said that the development of Smart City in the district is now growing rapidly, especially regarding the Community Development Housing Project.
“For the Community Development Housing Project, the government has built 200 PPRT houses worth RM46 million. This development also involves various facilities such as halls and so on.
“This construction is being carried out on a 30-acre land. Once completed, it will benefit the Poor, Severe Poor and B40 eligible groups. This PPK will also be equipped with infrastructure facilities such as a mosque and a playground.
“The same is true of the construction of a mini sports complex which is currently being built. And several buildings such as the KDCA House of Paitan are also being built in Paitan at this time,” he said.
He added that now government agencies have also started entering Paitan where they have already looked for sites such as the Welfare Department, Health Department and others.
According to James, it is expected that within two years the new face of Paitan will begin to appear when most of the projects have begun to be completed one by one.
He was speaking when officiating the Hari Raya Open House at the home of the Sugut Assemblyman, held in Pekan Botition, Paitan on Monday which was attended by more than 3,000 people from around the area.
“This event was attended by all levels of society regardless of religion, race and culture. Also enlivening the event were all community leaders from various areas.
“I thank all the people who were present today including government employees and officers, elected representatives, District Officers and others.
“Apart from providing various meals and entertainment for visitors at the event, I also provided duit raya assistance to those in need,” he said.
