LABUAN: Six Lions Clubs comprising Lions Club Of Labuan Mandarin, Host Labuan, Bandar Seri Begawan, Lawas, Limbang and Limbang Mandarin jointly provided food assistance worth RM22,707,00 to assist the Labuan District Disaster Management Committee (JPBD).
The assistance is to be distributed to COVID 19 patients receiving treatment at the COVID 19 Treatment Quarantine Centre (PKRC) located at the Institut Latihan Perindustrian Labuan (ILP).
This project benefited the Labuan community.
The donation ceremony was delivered by Project Chairperson, Jessica Lee from Lion Club Mandarin to Sugiman Sinang, Community Development Officer, Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) on behalf JPBD.
Also present, IPP Labuan Mandarin, Chin Kin Yin, President Telwant Kaur and Prunella Phoong from Labuan Host.
According Jessica, the donations from generous Lions Zone 12 allowed Lions to meet the immediate needs of Labuan community, especially Labuan residents undergoing treatment and quarantine.
“Among the needs donated include materials such as dry food and beverages and other needs such as toiletries and sanitary kits (sanitizer, half-face coverings and pocket tissues)
“I am grateful that these 6 clubs really helped labuan community to fight this pandemic. As the saying goes – Charity Is Everywhere for Lions and Giving is the best Therapy” she said.
Meanwhile Zone 12 Chairman Mathew Ling said Lion’s hard work has provided relief for the COVID 19 Labuan project, making us proud to be Lions.
