TAWAU: Patience, positivity and optimism are good virtues to embrace in facing adversity in life, said Sabah PKR Chief Datuk Christina Liew.

In her Hari Raya message on Wednesday, she said : “Be patient and don’t lose hope because every cloud has a silver lining.Let us look on the bright side of things despite the monumental challenges that come our way.

“In these trying times, we find solace in God and prayers in whatever faith we profess. The whole world is praying for protection from the Coronavirus.”There is ample opportunity to celebrate festivals post-COVID.”

Liew, who is also Tawau MP and Api Api Assemblywoman, reminded family heads to ensure that they and their loved ones will fully comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) by adhering to the ‘dos and don’ts’ during the festivities.

“In this way, we can avoid triggering new community clusters in the state during this newly-declared nationwide movement control order (MCO) from May 12 to June 7,” she said.

Those who have been vaccinated were urged to wear face masks and practise safe physical distancing when moving in public areas, instead of letting their guard down.

“To steer clear of danger, stay home as far as possible as we mark this festive occasion. I wish all Muslim friends ‘Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” Liew said.
