176 UMS FCI final semester students join the Finishing School Program

LABUAN: Approximately 176 final semester students of the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI) Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) recently attended the Finishing School Program.

According to the FCI statement, the four-day program was initiated by the UMS Career and Student Entrepreneurship Development Centre to prepare prospective faculty graduates in planning for their careers in the field.

“The students were given talk and sharing experience on Career Plan and Resume Preparation by lecturers with industry experience in their respective fields.

“Besides that, there was a slot of sharing about the Basic English Communication in Industry to all prospect graduates,” said the statement, here, today.

The FCI explained, the program also continued with sharing sessions by some faculty alumni on their careers after graduating from the university.

At the same time, V6 Technology Sdn Bhd and Beta Maju Sdn Bhd were invited to share their company background and their job opportunities with prospective graduates from all programs.

“All students who attended have learned about the employer’s expectations and job scope involved in different career positions.

“The program concluded with research-centered talks from lecturers or researchers about their research projects and postgraduate opportunities.

“This session showed students another option to follow after their graduation by extending their academic journey,” the statement said.

The Finishing School Program was conducted online via the Webex platform.
